Our Founders
Designable Fashion® was built on a shared vision to simplify the fashion development process and empower brands to bring their ideas to life with clarity, structure, and confidence.
Our founders combine deep creative expertise with technical precision, bridging the gap between design and production to help brands move from concept to market seamlessly.

James Chapman, Co-Founder & Head of Design
Creativity has always been at the core of James’s journey. From an early age, he was immersed in art and design, eventually finding his path in fashion through sketching, sewing, and hands-on experience in the industry.
By his teenage years, James was already working with a celebrity stylist, gaining real-world exposure to garment construction and client-facing design. He went on to study at Parsons School of Design in New York City, where he earned a BFA in Fashion Design and Marketing, interned with leading designers, and developed a strong foundation in both creative direction and brand strategy.
After graduating, James joined Perry Ellis International, where he designed performance and lifestyle apparel for major retail programs, including Target, and led design for Callaway Golf. His work included developing sustainable product lines and performance-driven collections built for scale.
Following his decade of corporate experience, James expanded into freelance design and product development, working with a range of brands across categories. This led to a broader understanding of the challenges brands face at every stage of growth.
At Designable Fashion®, James leads creative direction, product design, and brand development, helping clients build collections that are both visually compelling and strategically positioned for the market.
Jacob McIntyre, Co-Founder & Technical Director
Jacob’s path into fashion began through hands-on creation. From knitting and crafting at a young age to designing and constructing garments, his early experiences built a strong technical foundation rooted in curiosity and craftsmanship.
He earned a BFA in Costume Design and Technology from Youngstown State University, where he designed and produced costumes for over 25 productions. His education was further shaped by mentorship from an experienced seamstress and tailor, deepening his expertise in patternmaking, fit, and garment construction.
Jacob continued his training in both theatre and fashion, studying in California and later at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. He went on to work in technical design, product development, and quality control across a range of brands, including contributing to the launch of the Karl Lagerfeld diffusion line in the United States.
His 12 years of experience also includes developing performance and athleisure apparel for a global audience at Zumba Fitness, where he refined his approach to fit, functionality, and durability in high-performance garments.
At Designable Fashion®, Jacob leads technical development, fit, and production execution, ensuring every product is built to meet industry standards and scale effectively in manufacturing.
